Sustainability in Federal Universities: An analysis based on management reports

Abstract

In today's context, environmental and social sustainability is crucial for higher education institutions. Brazil's federal universities play an important role in training leaders and producing knowledge for a sustainable future. There is growing interest in incorporating sustainable practices into the strategies of these institutions. This study analyses the 2022 management reports of federal universities, highlighting how these institutions are implementing and prioritizing sustainability in their operations and management, reflecting the need for governance and accountability practices.
