Abstract

Translation and transculturation are fundamental to understanding diversity and intercultural relations, addressing how information and cultures interact and transform. The concept of transculturation, developed by Fernando Ortiz, offers an alternative to the concept of acculturation, reflecting the complexity of cultural exchanges in the Americas. The Baobab, as a symbol, illustrates the depth of these cultural processes and their nuances, showing how African traditions and knowledge intertwine with other cultures.
