Abstract

This qualitative study at the Human Rights Education Center at the Federal University of Tocantins investigates the essential knowledge for teaching practice in basic education, highlighting influential historical moments and factors that impact on the quality of teaching. It emphasizes the importance of theoretical mediation to complement practical experience and promote a transformative praxis in the training of educators.
