Abstract

Low back pain is a prevalent condition among university students and can be exacerbated by biopsychosocial factors such as catastrophizing, significantly affecting quality of life. This analytical cross-sectional study involved 40 students from the State University of Northern Paraná, where a moderate correlation was observed between the intensity of chronic non-specific low back pain and the catastrophizing score on the Pain Catastrophizing Scale (PCS). The results indicate that the greater the intensity of the pain, the greater the level of catastrophizing of the participants, reinforcing the importance of considering psychological aspects in the treatment of low back pain.
