Abstract

This research will present the bioceanic link project between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, which is being led by Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Paraguay. It is a project of great importance for South American geopolitics since it will allow for better integration of the region, especially for these four countries that are leading the project. This study will initially discuss the consequent impact on Brazil of dependence on the use of Atlantic ports and what the project's prospects are for the country. It will then present the bioceanic corridor project, its current status in terms of implementation and emphasize the importance that the project will bring to the regional economy and, more specifically, the benefits that it will bring to Brazil. Shortening the distances between the country's maritime routes and the Asian markets, which are the main destinations for Brazilian products, will lead to reductions in logistical transportation costs and, as a result, national products will have greater competitive advantages over international competitors.
