Abstract

The preceptorship is an important instrument for the development and professional training of the resident in the multiprofessional residency program, promoting the encounter between theoretical and practical knowledge, as well as the integration of residents with the health services, with the preceptor being essential in this process. Thus, for this activity to happen in a more assertive way, he must be aware of the strengths and challenges of the residency program to which he is inserted. Thus, the objective is to report the experience of situational analysis in a multiprofessional residency program, highlighting its strengths and challenges. This is a descriptive study of the experience report type, which took place in a Teaching Hospital in the State of Pará. The activity was carried out by preceptors in September and October 2023. Through the program's pedagogical project, it acquired information on its main objective of training specialists in the area of multidisciplinary health, providing care to obstetric, gynecological, pediatric and neonatal patients, who, associated with the experience of preceptorship, were able to identify challenges, such as reconciling teaching and service, unmotivated preceptors and organizing the distribution of residents. As well as, potential, that by obtaining several specialties, the preceptor has a vast teaching area, contributing to the preparation of the resident. At the end, the relevance of the preceptors in knowing, through the pedagogical project, the description of the institution, its articulation with local and regional health policies, flowchart and areas of coverage was evidenced, leading this preceptor to reflect on his role in this context. Thus, it is necessary for the preceptor of the program to have access and familiarization with the pedagogical project and, through a critical-reflective analysis, assume a supporting posture, providing improvements to the program, since it is in the teaching-service binomial, seeking to minimize the challenges and improve the powers within the multiprofessional residency, granting significant learning to the resident.
