Resumo

Basic Life Support (BLS) is understood as a set of initial care measures applied to victims until the arrival of the Emergency Medical Services or the Advanced Life Support Team, to guarantee the victim's life and avoid the aggravation of existing injuries, associated with cardiovascular events, especially non-traumatic cardiopulmonary arrest (CPA), whether in an out-of-hospital or in-hospital environment. Therefore, first aid is considered the basis for care in cases of CRA, as well as defining the primary resuscitation sequence.
