Occupational performance in patients with disorders mental

Resumo

This work addresses the influence of mental disorders on people's occupational performance, highlighting conditions such as depression, schizophrenia, and diseases related to aging. Using the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5), the study explores how these disorders affect everyday life, both physically and cognitively. The methodology includes an Integrative Literature Review, with well-defined inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results reveal a variety of studies examining occupational performance in different contexts, from dementia to obsessive-compulsive disorder. The importance of Occupational Therapy in the evaluation and rehabilitation of these individuals is highlighted, considering limitations, and seeking to improve quality of life. The work points to the need for more primary studies to deepen the understanding of occupational performance in mental disorders.
