Keywords:
Antidepressants, Depression, Side effect, Oral cavityAbstract
The chronic use of psychotropic drugs of the class: serotonin reuptake inhibitor antidepressants and tricyclics, can generate oral alterations, the most common being xerostomia, halitosis, bruxism and periodontitis. Sertraline and fluoxetine stand out as the drugs most responsible for oral alterations. However, the main sign that triggers a series of oral manifestations is hyposalivation.
